SESSION Six: When Hate Comes to Town
Part 1 of a 3 Part Series—Conversations with Rural MN Social Justice Workers
January 19, 2021 2:30 – 4:00 pm Registration Link: https://tinyurl.com/TRUESession6
Hosted by Camille Caster-Cyprian and Gail Anderson with guest speakers Jaylani Hussein, Pastor Dane Skilbred and Victoria Guillemard
How prepared are you to organize against hate in your community? Rural communities can be caught off guard when hate rises up. An anti-Islamic speaker may book a local school auditorium to spread misinformation about Islam. A local group may form to make refugees and immigrants feel unwelcome in the town. How would you react? Session speakers have first-hand experience with countering hate incidents and groups in their communities.
