Expanding Democracy Lobby Day

We have come a long way this session, but we still have a long way to go to make sure we get the policies we need to build the multiracial democracy we deserve. We’re hosting a lobby day at the Capitol on Thursday, March 16th for member leaders to meet directly with their legislators to let them know that we expect them to take meaningful action this session to protect and expand our democracy. 

The largest democracy bill we’re moving this session is the Democracy for the People Act (HF3 in the House, SF3 in the Senate). Key policies include:

• Automatic Voter Registration
• Pre-registration of 16 and 17-year-olds
• Voting Rights Restoration
• Election Protections
• Updating Independent Expenditure Policies
• Prohibiting Foreign-influenced Corporate Spending on Elections

We only get the policies our communities deserve, when we show up to tell our stories and call for the things we need. We’re asking you to drive turnout to our lobby day, so we can show our power together.
