The mission of Unitarian Universalists Out for Marriage (UUO4M) is to achieve marriage equality for LGBTQ people in Minnesota by:

• Forming alliances with interfaith and secular organizations that share the same goal,
• Raising awareness about how our governments and our communities deny justice to our LGBTQ families,
• Articulating a powerful moral public policy, grounded in Unitarian Universalist faith beliefs, and
• Mobilizing action intended to create lasting and just treatment of LGBTQ relationships.

Join with other UUs around Minnesota as we work for marriage equality! Minnesota UUs have a history of action, including working extensively to organize UUs to successfully oppose the 2006 "Marriage Amendment" campaign. UUO4M works closely with allies including OutFront Minnesota.

Take a look at our UU Denomination's LGBT equality work. And read a recent statement from then-UUA President Rev. Bill Sinkford, on the passage of Maine's marriage equality law on May 6, 2009.

We meet monthly and visit different UU congregations for each meeting. The effort to achieve equal civil marriage rights in Minnesota is under way. UUs and many interfaith partners are meeting, strategizing and find ways to bring our unique faith voices into the public policy arena. All are welcome - come stand on the side of love with us! Join the UUA's Standing on the Side of Love petition campaign. Sign the petition that will be used in Congressional lobbying and public education work this fall. Help support the rights LGBT people by saying "I stand on the side of love in support of full equality for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations." You will be joining over 2,000 petition signers and over 6,000 members of the Standing on the Side of Love Campaign!
