Neighbor to Neighbor, formed from a coalition with Capitol Community Services
and Good Neighbor Foundation in 1998 is part of Metro Housing Option,
a HUD project. Neighbor to Neighbor assists families prevent homelessness
through collaborationwith Lutheran Social Services and the Metro HRA.

The Neighbor to Neighbor Mission Statement
"Building community vitality with individuals and families
by providing resources for independent living."

Goals
· Support and provide tenant education
· Assist families find permanent housing
· Help achieve housing stability
· Enhance job retention and school attendance

Ramsey County families served:
· Referred by St. Paul Housing Authority
· Referred by private landlords
· Referred by St. Paul Public Housing
· Families living in shelters

Programs address the issues of housing retention through:
· Landlord advocacy [prevent eviction, build communication links, help find housing]
· Case Management [counseling, Independent living plans, housing information]
· Linkage with Faith Communities [friendship support, mentoring, household goods drives]
· Post-move counseling
