CSH Proposal to support the $20MM Pawlenty bond initiative.

A motion was made that UUAHP endorse the statement as proposed by CSH in support of the Governor's bonding bill. Passed. Bob will post a notice on the website and/or Yahoogroups asking for comments on the proposal, with responses to be directed to Jo Haberman by Wednesday, Feb. 11, in order to respond to CSH by Feb. 13.

We discussed how UUAHP will support the proposal. Suggestions include:
" Letters to the editor and to legislators
o We should draw up a template for letters and pass it along to all UUAHP members and metro UU congregations (social justice leaders) to promote letter writing
" Strong turn out at Day on the Hill Feb. 17 to advocate in favor of the proposal.

News and Announcements
* Thanks to FUS for a second collection in support of UUAHP on Jan. 25 that netted approximately $2000
* MUUSJA will meet Sunday, Feb. 8 at FUS. Jo will report for UUAHP
* Unity Church Universalist is seeking a lessor for the apartment building it owns, stipulating that the lease includes operations and fixing the building up to current codes. The group discussed the possibility of UUAHP contributing funds on the order of $15,000 if matching funds could be found (FUC Foundation?). No decision was taken.

The meeting adjourned early so members could attend the Wellstone Action discussion of Wellstone's book, led by Ed Goetz.
